864,000 sole traders and landlords face new tax rules from 6 April
HMRC is warning more than 860,000 sole traders and landlords that new digital tax reporting rules come into force on 6 April 2026 — roughly two months away. The message from the government is straightforward: act now.
If you are a sole trader or landlord who falls under the new rules, you should not wait until April to find out what is required. Getting set up in advance will give you time to sort any problems before the deadline hits.
